Office employees who do not work in person three or more days a week will be promoted only if additionally approved by a manager.
Since before the pandemic, administrative workers can request to work remotely, and each case is evaluated by the company itself.
Tensions between the corporation and its workers began last February, when Amazon ordered its 350,000 employees to return to in-person work starting in May.
Thousands of workers signed a petition against the mandate and called a strike to ask the company for more flexibility with remote work.
