Person of Interest will end its fifth season with possibilities for a sixth

Person of Interest  today debuts Tuesday , May 3 its fifth and final season on  CBS.
The actors and makers of the series made it clear that the series will bid farewell with a closed end, this does not mean that he could not revive with a sixth at some point.
The portal  IGN  interviewed  Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman  producers of the show, asked whether to write the fifth season knew it was going to be the last, or else they decided to take the frame to the end without knowing what would be the series.
Jonathan Nolan  replied: "One of the great advantages for me with this show, was able to work for five years with the great Greg Plageman, who knew far more than I do about the television business when we started. And it has been an incredible partner for me from the beginning .So when we got to this point, Greg, as he has done often in recent years, had set out for me. You know, I've been in the movie business, which is very different in many respects. In the television business, you have to read a little more prepared sheets. It is not always so straightforward. And Greg and I deduced that it was probably the end of the road. So instead of trying to cover our bets, or think for a possible sixth season, we decided to land the plane. And do it in such a way that if CBS and Warner want us, they could pick up the story and its implementation. So it is not a cataclysm at the end. But it is ending story. "
Greg Plageman  meanwhile clarified: "Once we saw the small episode order was taken as the writing on the wall, really. And instead of writing some rare termination without knowing if the series would return with more episodes, we think of a twist and give a satisfactory end. You do think so exciting and explosive as we could. And then we'll drop the microphone. And then away from it. And then one day, who knows? "
