"The Star Wars" is preparing to jump off the screen and land in our world. Han himself Solo? Ie Harrison Ford? has invited fans of the popular film franchise to pilot the famous "Millennium Falcon", the mythical spaceship with which the protagonist plows through interstellar space, which will be one of the main attractions of the area dedicated to "Star Wars" that Disney prepares its theme parks in California and Florida.
The actor moved further details of the project at a special gala broadcast Sunday on ABC on the 60th anniversary of Disneyland, which participated with BB-8, the spherical robot of the seventh installment of the series. " 'Star Wars' is, for lack of a better word awesome" Ford summed without fanfare lexicons fetched before a devoted audience. "I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to be part of it and walk in these iconic places he continued. And soon you will be able to do well, not in a galaxy far far away, but close to home. "
In the new territories "Star Wars" of both parks, which still lack definitive name and opening date, will not only be possible to get behind the wheel of the fastest ship in the galaxy, but also feel transported to a distant planet where meet androids and aliens, and visit him a street market or a canteen and taste thelocal produce. "For nearly 40 years, we have seen the universe of 'Star Wars' on the screen. Now Disney Imagineering have joined forces with Lucasfilm's imagination to give life to this galaxy , "says the promotional video broadcast during the television event.
Disney's commitment to exploit the success of these films outside cinemas not surprised by the galactic income "Star Wars: the awakening of force" is providing the entertainment giant. Earlier this month it was already over 2,000 million dollars of revenue worldwide, the third highest grossing film in history, behind only "Avatar" and "Titanic." In fact, it has triggered the accounts of the whole group higher than expected, leading to a total increase of 14% in the first fiscal quarter of 2016 and thus compensating for the not so buoyant results in the television business (especially those of ESPN) chain.
Moreover, its impact offscreen has been proven. The Disney merchandising division increased by 23% thanks precisely to the products of "Star Wars."
