Ford will begin selling in 2017 its popular SUV "pickup" F-150 in China


For the first time ever, Ford will begin selling next year in China for its popular SUV "pickup" F-150 in the form Raptor SuperCrew model, a version of high performance and "off -road "vehicle.

The vehicle will be produced at one of the assembly plants that Ford has in the state of Michigan (USA) and exported to China for sale in 2017.

The Raptor model of the F-150 is a specialized with various components such as the engine, chassis and suspension designed for unpaved roads and roadless terrain vehicle.

Raptor is produced with a steel frame and high strength aluminum body of military quality.

The engine is the new second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost, according to Ford, it produces more power and more efficient than the previous 6.2L V8 that equipped the Raptor form.

Coupled to the new EcoBoost there is a transmission, also new, 10-speed that distributes power to all four wheels.

The F-150 SuperCrew Raptor includes a new Terrain Management System with six modes: normal; high road performance; rain, snow or ice; mud and sand; for high speed low desert terrain; rock and slow speed in rocky terrain.

Jamal Hameedi, chief engineer of Ford Performance, said in a statement that "F-150 Raptor represents the best of what Ford can get with your design and engineering teams and its long history of producing tough, capable and versatile trucks."
