Kevin Bacon stars in a stage adaptation of the story that inspired the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock 's Rear Window .
The Hartford Stage in Connecticut said Tuesday that the movie star will lead the evocative story of a man in a wheelchair who witnesses a possible murder.
The play was adapted by Keith Reddin and will be presented from October 22 to November 15.
It will be directed by the artistic director of Hartford Stage, Darko Tresnjak , who also staged the Broadway hit A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder at Hartford Stage.
Charlie Lyons , Jay Russell and Jeff Steen are the producers.
Winner of a Golden Globe, Bacon has worked in films including A Few Good Men ( Pride and Glory ), Apollo 13 and Footloose .
