First promotional image of Jude Law in The Young Pope

Now comes the first promotional image of  The Young Pope, HBO miniseries, Sky and Canal Plus,  with his starring  Jude Law .

Co-written and directed by Oscar-winning Italian director  Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty) , the series of eight episodes will revolve around "the beginning of the pontificate of Pius XIII, born Lenny Belardo  (Law).  He was a complex and conflicted character so conservative in their choices regarding that border obscurantism, but full of compassion for the weak and poor. "

The series is "about dreams, fears, conflicts, battles, the search for meaning and the need for love of a Pope, seen through the prism of the unique vision of Sorrentino able to create worlds that are in the same amazing and more real than reality itself. "

Also it appears in fiction  Dianne Keaton  as Mary , a nun US who now lives in  Vatican City.  She raised  Lenny , taught him to live with God, and helped him reach the papacy.

J ames Cromwell  will play the Cardinal  Michael Spencer,  the mentor of  Lenny. Silvio Orlando  (The Caiman) will be the Secretary of State, Cardinal Voiello ;  Scott Shepherd  (And So It Goes) will be the Cardinal  Dussollier ; and Belgian actress  Cécile de France  (The Kid With A Bike) will play  Sofia , which will be in charge of marketing in  Vatican City .  Javier Chamber  for its part, will play the Cardinal Gutierrez , master of ceremonies at the Vatican ,  Ludivine Sagnier  (Swimming Pool) is  Esther , the wife of a Swiss watch; and  Toni Bertorelli (Passion Of The Christ) has been chosen as the Cardinal  Caltanissetta .

Shooting will last until February 2016 and will take place and n North America, Africa and Puerto Rico,  in addition to  Italy.  The series is a joint production with  HBO, Sky and France's Canal Plus.
