US actor Sean Penn decided to withdraw the million dollar defamation
lawsuit filed last year against Lee Daniels after the filmmaker has
apologized and has contributed a financial donation to the charity
organization J / P Haitian Relief.
Daniels
himself has made that apology, which you can read today public: "I'm
sorry I hurt you, Sean, I apologize and I take back my imprudent words
about you."
"I
was inconsiderate. You're someone I consider a friend, a brilliant
actor, a great humanitarian and a true Hollywood legend," said the
filmmaker.
Penn has willingly accepted response Daniels, who considers "sincere" and "felt". "I
also accept and appreciate your generous contribution to J / P Haitian
Relief Organization (created by Penn itself), it will have a
transformative effect on the lives of those we serve in Haiti , "said the interpreter.
Penn
filed the lawsuit in the Supreme Court of New York in September 2015,
which claimed 10 million to Daniels for comments in which he accused the
actor mistreatment of women.
