Cher requests legal guardianship of her son Elijah

After announcing that her son, Elijah Allman, is in a detoxification clinic due to his strong problems with alcohol and other substance abuse, Cher has decided to take action and request legal protection from the court.

According to information published by "TMZ", the 77-year-old singer presented, this Wednesday, the documents in which, among other things, she asks to be the only one who can control her son's money, alleging that, in addition to her addictions, Allman has severe mental health problems, making him "substantially incapable of managing his own resources."

The site also points out that, in said request, the interpreter of "Belive" spoke of a trust from which Elijah, 47, receives monthly payments, but due to his current condition, she is concerned that he will spend this amount on drugs and not on covering his basic needs

Likewise, Cher said she was in the best position to exercise guardianship over her son; In addition, she has the support of Allman's two brothers, who even proposed it to her a long time ago.

As if that were not enough, the portal claims, mention is also made of her ex-daughter-in-law, Mariangela King, whom the singer blames for trying to obstruct her efforts to provide psychological help to her son. And, remember that a few months ago King accused her of planning Elijah's kidnapping, allegations that Cher herself denied.

The hearing of the case is set for next March 6. Meanwhile, Elijah Allen continues his treatment at a California clinic.

This same legal figure was to which Britney Spears was subjected since 2008, after she suffered severe mental crises and a judge appointed her father, Jamie Spears, as her guardian.
