The son of King Charles III of England was an officer in the British army in Afghanistan and launched the Invictus Games after his encounters with soldiers who had suffered serious injuries.
The games end on Saturday with a closing ceremony. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is also expected to attend.
The birthday celebrations began the night before, when the son of British King Charles III visited the historic center of Düsseldorf. The prince and his wife tasted beer and wine in a traditional brewery , as well as black pudding and pork knuckle , a typical dish of the area.
The couple arrived unannounced at the “Im Goldenen Kessel” brewery, according to a spokeswoman for the place. They had not previously reserved a table either. “Suddenly they were here ,” she said.
The bar staff told the Daily Mail that the royals were “lovely” and left a “generous tip.” While Harry celebrated with six half-pints, his wife settled for a small drink.
Head bartender Frank Wackers, who has worked at the restaurant for 38 years, said Harry's bodyguard asked how the beer was. “He said Harry would kill him if the beer was bad,” he said, laughing about the bodyguard's prank.
