As it has been happening in other series such as Game of Thrones , nobody has the guaranteed survival in The Walking Dead , not even its protagonist Rick Grimes! This was revealed by the creator of the fiction, Robert Kirkman, who attended the Walker Stalker Cruise 2018 at the end of January.
According to NME , the creator of the series has ensured that Rick will die some day and that someone will have to take his place : "Hmm, it's a question, right? Who knows? Maybe it's a character that has not been introduced yet. Maybe it's Judith, who knows . "
With these statements, the daughter of Rick is postulated as the perfect candidate to replace him, although it is still very small and there would be a jump in time. However, the followers of The Walking Dead are still up in arms for the imminent disappearance of Carl Grimes , Rick's first-born son.
It is not the first time that Robert Kirkman suggests that the protagonist of The Walking Dead has to die . We must remember that in mid-2016, in a digital meeting with Reddit users, he assured that Rick would die "at some point" .
