Lego fans pay homage to Cervantes with an exhibition

Lego fans pay tribute this weekend to the writer Miguel de Cervantes in the fourth centenary of his death with an exhibition at the Madrid Railway Museum depicting scenes of his life and episodes of The Quixote.

The exhibition of more than 420,000 pieces, is part of ALEBRICKS! 2016, the seventh annual meeting of fans of Lego constructions in Spain, as noted by the Railway Museum in a press release.

It has been reproduced scenes of the life of Cervantes, as his birthplace in Alcalá de Henares, the press of Juan de la Cuesta in Madrid -in which published The Quixote, or the Marquesa galley, on board which the writer went to participate in the Battle of Lepanto.

They have also represented through pieces of Lego several episodes of Don Quixote with its leading characters: one manchega sale, the encounter with the windmills or the government of the Insula Barataria Sancho.

The exhibition, which runs along one of the station platforms, will be open to the public on Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00 and Sunday from 10:00 to 15:00 hours.

The members of the association ALE Lego fans! that have developed the sample will be present during the event to exchange views, information and ideas with visitors and "encourage all fans to improve their construction techniques."

The entry price will be the usual museum (between 1 and 6 euros), except on Saturday when can attend free under 12 years.

The Railway Museum has reserved a space for children who come to the exhibition can build their own Lego models and which also hosting a workshop paint to color scenes and figures.

In addition, visitors can participate in a contest of "search for the lost minifigures" which must find hidden Lego characters.
