Idris Elba star in Guerrilla, new limited series of Showtime

Oscar winner  John Ridley  (American Crime, 12 Years a Slave) will write, direct and produce  Guerrilla , which will issue a new series  Showtime  starring  Idris Elba  .

The series will consist of six parts and will tell a love story with the Black Power movement in the UK as a backdrop.The relationship between the main characters will be tested when you release a political prisoner and counter -intelligence unit to be devoted to crush all forms of black activism will be created. Ridley will direct the first two episodes and wrote the majority, the other writer associated with this project is Misan Sagay, responsible for  Belle . Idris Elba will act as executive producer.

As told in Deadline, John Ridley has spent several years researching the Black Power and the project to make this series came when I had a conversation with Idris Elba where the actor spoke of his father, who was from Sierra Leone, which was an activist of this movement.
