The Cannes Film Festival gets interesting. The world's most prestigious competition starts to rise the curtain on its 69th edition after unveiling the list of films that will participate this year, revealing the names of common directors and an endless parade of big name stars. Hollywood seems that everything is moving to the Croisette this May.

George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Kristen Stewart, Keanu Reeves, Michael Shannon, Adam Driver, Juliette Binoche, Marion Cotillard and even Pedro Almodóvar are some of the names expected on the red carpet, but the most commented on among film journalists is curiosity that will generate seeing Charlize Theron and Sean Penn together presenting 'the last face' . Yes, the film directed Penn before the South African broke the engagement. No one will want to miss this press conference! And on top, with Javier Bardem in the middle of the two ...

Woody Allen will be the first star of the event being responsible for opening the festival with his new film, Cafe Society , starring Jesse Eisenberg, Stewart and Blake Lively on the Hollywood of the 30s will be the fourteenth production neoyorkino to appear in Cannes always out of competition.

Among the most commercial productions we'll see 'Money Monster' , the new thriller directed by Jodie Foster and starring Clooney and Julia Roberts; 'giant My friend' ( The BFG ) Steven Spielberg; or 'The nice guys' with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, among many others.

Regulars like Jim Jarmusch ( ' Paterson ' with Adam Driver), Olivier Assayas ( 'Personal Shopper' with Kristen Stewart), Nicholas Winding Refn ( 'The neon demon' with Elle Fanning), Xavier Dolan ( 'It's inly the end of the world ' , with Marion Cotillard and Lea Seydoux), Ken Loach ( "I, Daniel Blake') or the Dardenne brothers ( 'the unknown girl') will compete for the Palme d' or .
