David Morrissey ( The Walking Dead, The Driver ) joins the second season of The Missing , the award - winning crime thriller BBC.
The first season of the series followed Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) investigating the disappearance of a child during the World Cup 2006. The second year a new case is presented, with new characters, and that will only Karyo in his return.
Keeley Hawes, actress who played Lara Croft in four games in the franchise Tomb Raider, also joins the cast of the second season, playing the mother of Alice Webster (Abigail Hardingham), a young woman who disappeared 11 years ago and, also, Morrissey wife will be in the series.
The Missing is written by Harry and Jack Williams, who define the series as " an analysis of the loss of freedom and how the past can set this time in a multitude of ways we can not fully understand ."
The new season will be run entirely by Ben Chanan ( The Last Kingdom ) and has no release date yet.
