The nominees for the Academy Awards

Today, nominations met the Oscar 2016. The filmmakers Guillermo del Toro and Awards Ang Lee, the actor and director John Krasinski, and the president of the Academy, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, announced  from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills  what films competing for a statuette at the ceremony on 28 February.

"The Reborn" (The Revenant) Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu tops the list of nominees with 12 nominations, including for  best film, best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio and  best director for  Inarritu . Both triumphed last Sunday Golden Globes. The Mexican director has a chance to win this award for the second consecutive year. Last year he won with "Birdman".

"Mad Max: Fury Road" by George Miller, follows close behind with 10 nominations, including best picture. The production of Ridley Scott's sci-fi "Mission to Mars". "Rescue Mission" (The Martian) got seven nominations, including best picture.

Eight films were nominated for best picture. A "The Reborn" and "Mad Max: Fury Road" are added: Tom McCarthy's drama about investigative journalism "Spotlight," the Cold War thriller from Steven Spielberg's "Bridge of Spies", adaptation of Adam McKay "The Big Short" by Michael Lewis, the drama of a mother and son in captivity "Room" and the story of Irish immigration "Brooklyn".

For the best actor award competition, Leo DiCaprio, Matt Damon (The Martian), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs), Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) and Bryan Cranston (Trumbo).

In the category of best actress Brie Larson's favorite figure for Room, along with Jennifer Lawrence (Joy), Cate Blanchett (Carol), Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) and Charlotte Rampling (45 Years).

Regarding the nominees for best supporting actor the list are Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Mark Ruffalo, Mark Rylance and Silvester Stallone. The nominees in the section include actress Rooney Mara, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Alicia Vikander and Rachel McAdams.

The Colombian film "Serpent's Embrace" will represent Latin America in this release. It will compete for best foreign language film with "The son of Saul" (Hungary), the French "Mustang", the Danish "A War" and "Theeb" Jordan. 

The Oscars will take place on February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood and will be led by Chris Rock, who hosted the gala and 2005.
