Reese Witherspoon take to film the origin of Barbie

Reese Witherspoon gets involved in a new project 

Reese Witherspoon, the famous actress  'Legally Blonde' wants to tell  the origin of the Barbie doll , one of its greatest aesthetic references, and  how created  Ruth Handler.
The actress has acquired through the producer  Pacific Standard  the rights to adapt the book  'Barbie and Ruth' (Robin Gerber)  to carry the big screen.
Ruth Handler  was  the president of the toy company Mattel, Inc.  founded with her ​​husband,  Elliot Handler. Ruth  had noted that her daughter Barbara preferred playing with paper dolls seem more adult rather than play with dolls that look like girls.
When Handler traveled to Europe, Ruth discovered in Germany a doll named Lili  (who was not a toy for girls but it was a joke gift for men).
The creator of Barbie, knowing nothing bought her daughter's wrist and when he returned home  remade design Lili and renamed Barbie.  This toy debuted at the Toy Fair in New York in 1959 and gradually It became  the most famous doll in the world.
