Saturday 11 June, had started on AMC, the second half of the fifth and final season of Hell on Wheels
and apparently their leaders have ensured that all have the closure they deserve.
During a recent interview executive producer John Wirth gave details about the drama and what will happen in these final episodes, advancing the desire of writers to give a "close to all the characters."
Situated in the 1860s and in the American West, the historical drama tells the story behind the construction of the first transcontinental railroad in the country. The cast includes Anson Mount, Colm Meaney, Christopher Heyerdahl, Robin McLeavy, and Jennifer Ferrin.
Speaking about the end of the series, Wirth said he hoped fans would be satisfied with the way how the story of each character:
"As they watch the last season, I know many of our fans will be thinking about how it will end for these characters. I've had a lot of interaction with our fans and I can say they are very invested in these people. We have worked very hard to reach a satisfactory way for the story to the end for each character, something that is difficult, because there are a lot of them. So this caused us many sleepless nights. As for what will happen, I think people have really come to love Anson Mount as Cullen Bohannon and Colm Meaney as Durant. This parent / child relationship developed very well and is very relatable and, in many ways, is the heart of the series.Christopher Heyerdahl as Swedish ... rarely is a psychopath so carefully built and performed on television. "
The producer added that also proud of the female characters in the series:
"And for someone in the West, I am proud of the strong female characters and how they work, all very well interpreted by our members incomparable female cast and equipped. I think people who enjoy western genre received a full dose of the heritage of the West, action, character and a little knowledge of one of the most amazing stories of America that still has to explain in a movie. I have a feeling people will be sad at the end, but always have the DVD collection! "
