Stephen Dorff adds to the third season of True Detective

Stephen Dorff  will star alongside Mahershala Ali and Carmen Ejogo  in season  True Detective.

The third season will tell the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks and deepens a mystery for decades and is divided into three different time periods. Ali will play the lead role of  Wayne Hays, a detective from the state police Northwest Arkansas.    
Dorff will play Wayne mate, Roland West , a state investigator  Arkansas  who, along with his partner, has influenced his life and career for more than three decades by a puzzling crime.
As with the initial delivery of  True Detective, Pizzolatto  is the only writer of the third season, except for Episode 4, he co - wrote with  David Milch. Jeremy Saulnier is the director of the season with  Pizzolatto , who will make his directorial debut.
Pizzolatto , also serves as showrunner, executive producer  Saulnier and executive producers  Scott Stephens; Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson , who led the season 1; Cary Joji Fukunaga,  who led the season 1; along with  Scott Stephens, Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and Richard Brown.
The most recent credits  Dorff  include film  Wheeler , the story of an aspiring musician from  Texas  who travels to  Nashville  with dreams of a lifetime to try country music. Dorff  wrote and co-directed the project and wrote and performed all the music. He also appealed as  Brody Dean  in the musical drama  FOX Star  and was recently elected to the prequel  Texas Leathersaw Massacre, Leatherface.
